We follow a regular schedule of checks for every client, and know exactly what to watch out for. That’s where our expertise comes in: if you don’t know what you’re looking for, the first sign of a problem is often when your system fails.
Dealing With a Crisis
Even with the most proactive monitoring service, things can go wrong unexpectedly. Because we’ve got access to your systems, you know that when you report a problem, we can investigate it easily. We can fix most problems without coming out to your premises.
If we identify a hardware issue, then we’ll know what parts to bring, and can usually fix the equipment on the first visit. If the problem is with your server and we know it will take longer to mend, we’ll bring you a replacement server on loan and get you up and running again quickly.
Checking Your Backups
Every morning, we check that your backup has been successful. We’ll then report any problems and work with you to resolve them.
If you are running a daily back-up rather than using an online back-up system, the procedure can seem deceptively simple. In fact, we find that on average, 4 of our clients’ daily backups fail. Before working with us, those clients had been completely unaware of problems and had assumed all their data was safe. In fact, there were many times when the back-up had missed important files.
With our routine checking, you can be confident that when you need your data, it will be there.
Keeping Your System Secure
One of our key priorities is to keep your software up-to-date and functioning effectively. We’ll look for anything suspicious, deal with quarantined viruses, and install any updates to the anti-virus software. We also check that they updates have installed correctly.
It’s more than good housekeeping. Without this attention to detail, your system is at risk. When a really nasty virus gets in, systems fail suddenly and completely. We’re proud to say that we’ve kept all our customers safe from serious attack.
Installing Software Updates Safely
We look into the detail of all the updates that come round, and install them only when we know it’s safe to do so.
Updates can cause more problems than they solve. Some have even caused servers to crash. We’ll let others test things out before we go ahead and install the update onto your system. Unless it’s a critical security issue, there’s rarely a rush.
When we do install updates, we’ll schedule the work at appropriate times so that any disruption to is minimal.
